My name is Erma LaFleur and I’m the proud owner of Mimi Stuff and creating is in my nature. Ever since I was a child, I loved crafting and working with my hands. When I was 14, I discovered that I had an innate talent for sewing and when all of my friends earned their money babysitting, I chose to become a seamstress. I would sew for the church choir, weddings, and I even made suits for people in the corporate world.
In 2014, I made the decision to go back to school to acquire a Bachelor of Science in Business and began to once again transform my love of arts and crafts into a business. It’s been a challenge, as is true of all of the most rewarding things in life. I’ve learned so much and I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge and accomplish what I set out to do.
I started my Etsy shop in 2016 after a steady decline in sales during the spring arts and craft shows season. Each item in my store is lovingly handcrafted with care and precision. I love thinking that my gifts and accessories bring people joy through all different stages of their lives. My silly sports themed sock monkeys are timeless gifts enjoyed by all ages. I use my personal style as an influence for the chiffon wraps in my store. Each one is versatile, one size fits all, and breezy.
In my spare time, you’ll still find me coming up with new ideas for crafts or picking through craft stores. I truly love being creative and I’m so grateful I’ve been able to create a business around my passion. Something in my mind just comes alive and I’m in my “element” when I’m creating. When I’m not knee deep in chiffon and cotton, you’ll find me hovering over genealogy research. I love discovering untold stories.
